The Arkansas Trucking Association is pleased to present a two-day, six-session safety symposium. Join us as we explore the future of safety as it relates to technology and regulations.

SYMPOSIUM OVERVIEW

TUESDAY, AUGUST 29

 Morning sessions

ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICES: FOUR MONTHS AND COUNTING

Last call for ELDs! With the December implementation deadline looming, these sessions will offer attendees the chance to get their almost-last-minute questions answered.

In the first session, Dave Osiecki (President, Scopelitis Transportation Consulting) will answer the most frequently asked questions and share the status of the vendor self-certification process and roadside inspection data transfer methods.

In the second session, Kevin Breedlove (Division Administrator, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) will update attendees on the latest FMCSA's ELD state training and regulatory enforcement information.

Afternoon sessions

EVENT RECORDERS AND IN-CAB CAMERAS

Industry suppliers will be on-hand to participate in two distinct panel discussions covering all angles of these devices and back-end technology.

Invited panelists include Lytx, SmartDrive, Meritor WABCO, Omnitracs, PeopleNet and Bendix CVS.

David O'Neal (Director of Safety Services, Arkansas Trucking Association) will moderate the first panel on the "Practical Considerations for Implementation and Behavior Change." 


In the second panel, Greg Jones (Attorney, Wright Lindsey & Jennings LLP) will moderate a discussion on the legal perspectives of in-cab cameras and event recorders.   

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30

 Morning sessions

A NEW ERA FOR OSHA

A new administration in Washington could mean big changes for OSHA. Tressi Cordara (Principal, Jackson Lewis PC) will discuss what's on OSHA's radar and the latest on electronic recordkeeping and the walking/working surfaces rule. 

 

PROSPECTIVES FOR CSA

The National Academy of Sciences report has been released, recommending changes to CSA and the SMS methodology. In the final session, Steven Bryan (President, Vigillo) will explore the steps FMCSA will take regarding the recommended CSA changes. He'll share the latest insights to stay ahead of the CSA curve.
