Fifteen ATA Members Make Top 100

Little Rock, AR – Fifteen Arkansas Trucking Association member companies, including five companies headquartered in Arkansas, are among the Top 100 freight carriers in North America according to the annual ranking compiled by Transport Topics, an industry trade newspaper. The list ranks companies by their 2014 gross revenue. Companies on the 2014 list represent a combined revenue of $209.5 billion in 2014, an increase of 7.4% from $195.1 billion in 2013.

ArcBest Corporation, holding company of ABF Freight in Fort Smith, is the 2nd largest trucking company in Arkansas, and the 12th largest in the U. S., up one spot from last year’s ranking. The national and regional less-than-truckload carrier employed 13,238 people in 2014, and generated more than $2.6 billion in revenue. The company also offers expedited deliveries, warehousing and distribution capabilities.

The Arkansas trucking industry provides jobs to over 85,000 Arkansans, one in every eleven working people,” Newton said.

In addition to the five companies headquartered in Arkansas, ATA members represent 10 other top spots on the list. These carriers have a significant presence in Arkansas and support the association in effort to protect the interests of the industry as a whole. ATA members making the list include UPS Inc.
