Country Music and Truck Driving An All-American Combo

Country music recording artist Lindsey Lawler is the new face and voice of the Truckload Carriers Association’s Highway Angel program. Lawler will go on tour to promote a better trucking industry image performing at TravelCenters of America locations throughout the Southeast and Midwest. “For the longest time, the trucking and country music industries went hand-in-hand,” said Lawler.

“We’re looking forward to expanding the reach of a positive trucking industry image to those outside the industry through music.” Lawler recorded the song “Highway Angel” in honor of the truck driving men and women who have risked their own lives to rescue other motorists and have been named Highway Angels by the Truckload Carriers Association. Highway Angel, a beautiful stranger Who would be the light, on my darkest night And save me from this hell Highway Angel Road to road, coast to coast, giving back when they get the chance to Saved my life passing through, I thank God I can say, thank you. “Lindsay’s lyrics describe the life of the professional truck driver in terms everyone can understand, putting a recognizable face behind the wheel of every tractor trailer,” said Chris Burress, president of the Truckload Carriers Association. “She’s going to have huge impact on the families that stop by to listen and on the people they share her music with back home. Plus, I can’t imagine any truck driver getting back on the road without feeling a little prouder.” Arkansans can catch the tour in North Little Rock at the Petro Stopping Center on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and in West Memphis at the Petro Stopping Center on Wednesday, Oct. 2 (both Petros are on I-40). Each stop will feature an hour-long acoustic performance by Lawler from atop a flatbed truck, as well as a live, two-hour radio remote through Renegade Radio Nashville. The tour stops will also have sponsored booths promoting and interactive family-friendly experience.
