The Arkansas Highway Police led a convoy through Little Rock on September 17 to raise money for Special Olympics. The World’s Largest Truck Convoy is a national event organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

This year, 104 trucks from 14 companies participated in the annual event. The drivers and spectators gathered at Maverick Transportation in North Little Rock.

The trucks set out from Maverick in North Little Rock, with the Arkansas Highway Police leading the way. The truck drivers showed off their trucks to Special Olympic athletes and their families. Some companies even unveiled specially wrapped trailers supporting Special Olympics Arkansas.

The convoy concluded back at Maverick for lunch and a special appearance by Miss Arkansas Savannah Skidmore and a very convincing Elvis, impersonated by ATA chairman and Stallion Transportation Group president Butch Rice.

In all, Arkansas trucking companies raised $60,000 at this year’s convoy event.
