This complimentary outreach program of the ATA serves as a public education service to address highway safety and to educate the motoring public on safe driving, especially near large commercial vehicles.

The following exceptional professional drivers were selected to the Arkansas Road Team:

Eric Brockette – FedEx Freight, Little Rock
Mark Buckley – USA Truck, Van Buren
Dave Hall – ABF Freight, Little Rock
Weston Mars – FedEx Freight, Little Rock

"I would like to congratulate these drivers on being selected for the Arkansas Road Team," said David O’Neal, the Arkansas Trucking Association vice president of safety programs and industry engagement. "Their safety records and dedication to trucking are an example of the best our industry has to offer."

Candidates for the Road Team competed in the final stage of a selection process on Oct. 9 in Little Rock, Ark. Nominees were judged by a panel of trucking industry professionals and enforcement officials on their knowledge of the trucking industry, dedication to safety, overall safe driving record and ability to communicate the trucking industry's message.

The Arkansas Road Team was made possible after the Arkansas Highway Commission awarded the association with funds from the Arkansas Commercial Truck Safety and Education Program (ACTSEP) to promote safety on Arkansas roadways.

Since forming in 2015, Road Team captains have taken their Share the Road safe-driving program to more than 100 schools and other events throughout the state. Presentations are offered at no cost and can be scheduled by contacting ATA at 501-372-3462.

“The Arkansas Road Team represents more than 12 million miles of professional experience gained throughout decades across the nation. These drivers have a passion for the industry,” said Shannon Newton, president of the Arkansas Trucking Association. “They are trucking’s best ambassadors, and we are proud to share their stories and experiences with communities across the state.”
