UCR fees to decline by 27%

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced that fees for Unified Carrier Registration Plan will be
reduced 27% next year.

The 2023 UCR fees will be reduced for companies with up to two power units from the current $59 to $43. For companies with 1,001 or more units, fees will drop from the current $56,977 to $41,627.

Be Pro awarded $1.4 million for second mobile workshop

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson approved a $1.45 million grant for a second “Be Pro Be Proud” mobile workshop
to share with high school students the opportunities available through technical careers in the state.

Slow down, phone down for work zone safety

State Police and Highway Police Partnership

The Arkansas Highway Commission and the Arkansas Department of Transportation are launching a safety campaign to crack down on reckless and distracted driving in work zones across the state.

With the passage of infrastructure funding at both the federal and state level, Arkansas drivers can expect to encounter work zones maintaining and building roads around the state. Last fall, AHC and ARDOT began planning
a campaign to educate passenger vehicle drivers and commercial motor vehicle drivers how to share the road safely in work zones.
