LITTLE ROCK, ARK. – Project Zero and Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) will be partnering with trucking to deliver Christmas for children and teens in foster care across Arkansas.

Over the past few weeks, individuals and businesses adopted wish lists of children in foster care. Today, Friday, Dec. 1, at Project Zero’s “North Pole” at EngageMed in North Little Rock, community volunteers will organize, sort and load the donated gifts onto trucks to be delivered to Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, in preparation for tomorrow’s Candyland Christmas.

Candyland Christmas is Project Zero’s annual gift-giving event that brings the foster children and teens to one central location to fulfill their holiday wish lists.

“Everyone deserve holiday magic, and truck drivers are proud to be a part of delivering that to children and teens in every situation,” said Shannon Newton, Arkansas Trucking Association president and board member of Project Zero.

Today’s logistical event is the feat of hundreds of volunteers and Arkansas trucking company, Stallion Transportation Group. The trailer will arrive between 12:30 pm and 12:45 pm at EngageMed (5125 Northshore Drive, North Little Rock). Tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 1. will be an exclusive, special event for the 300 kids currently in Arkansas’ foster program along with open adoptive families who can attend and connect with waiting kids of all ages.

A special thanks to Stallion Transportation for contributing equipment, transportation and volunteers to make this Christmas tradition possible.

Media personnel are invited to cover the journey from North Pole to Candyland.
