There isn't very much more to be done' on gas prices, says commerce secretary

On June 7, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo admitted that there is not much more the White House can do to lower record high gas prices for Americans, casting blame on Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, that is the brutal reality," Raimondo said.
The bleak assessment comes as the national average price for regular gasoline has risen steadily over the past several weeks, reaching an all-time high of $5 per gallon, according to AAA. Prices won't go down, the commerce secretary said, until the war in Ukraine is over.
