Bill Davis of Haynesville, La., a professional crude oil driver from Frank Thompson Transport, of El Dorado, Ark., saved a driver in an overturned vehicle from drowning in a collision on Highway 19 in Magnolia, Ark.
Davis was traveling south on Highway 19 as a vehicle, approaching the bridge in the north bound lane, veered into the south bound lane.
Davis immediately steered right avoiding a head on collision. When he looked in is mirror, he observed the vehicle overcorrect and leave the roadway and overturn.
Once stopped, he ran back to the vehicle to find it upside down and submerged in water. Davis entered the water and could see that the female driver was unresponsive. He busted out the back glass of the submerged vehicle with his bare hand to gain access to the driver.
With the glass broken, the driver of the overturned vehicle regained consciousness and climbed to the rear of the vehicle where the Frank Thompson Transport driver helped her out and assisted her through the water back to dry ground.
Davis remained with the victim of the accident until Law Enforcement Officials arrived on scene.
