Safety Resources
Safety on staff
The Arkansas Trucking Association is committed to sharing the road safely with all vehicles. Our goal is to keep every driver and every family safe on the highway.
Arkansas Trucking Association members put safety first through improved driver training, investment in advanced safety technologies and active participation in industry safety initiatives at the local, state and national levels.
Through regular meetings, legislative initiatives, industry outreach, research and safety recognition programs and a certified safety director on staff, we stay proactively involved in all aspects of driver and industry safety.

The Arkansas Trucking Association offers the following safety resources and programs:
An active and member-led Safety Management Council (SMC), whose purpose is to promote cooperative efforts for increased safety throughout the industry.
The Arkansas Road Team, a group of professional drivers from Arkansas-based carriers who serve as ambassadors for the industry. Their mission is to educate the public on safe driving, especially near large commercial vehicles.
A Share the Road program, delivered by the Arkansas Road Team that addresses highway safety through free presentations to groups of all ages and sizes.
An on-staff safety professional to provide regulatory guidance and leadership of safety initiatives.
We’re proud to say that the industry is safer than it has ever been. Our continued focus on safety will only help us make our nation’s highways even safer.

Safety Services
Arkansas Trucking Association also offers several free services to all motor carriers in the state thanks to the Arkansas Commercial Truck Safety and Education Program. ACTSEP, a program of Arkansas Department of Transportation, is funded with the first $2 million collected each year from a portion of truck registration fees.
In 2015, ATA was awarded funds to support three programs, including a full-time safety resource. Since then, the association has employed a director of safety services to educate carriers and serve as a liaison with the FMCSA, Arkansas Highway Police, OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
